An Official Avicii Biography Is Coming This Fall

April 8, 2021 - News

April 20, 2021, will mark the three-year anniversary of the death of Tim Bergling, the artist otherwise known as superstar producer Avicii. A forthcoming biography will recap Bergling’s brief but impactful life, which ended when he died by suicide at age 28.

Set for release in North America on Nov. 16, Tim: The Official Biography of Avicii will tell Bergling’s life story through interviews with his family, friends and collaborators. “The book paints an honest picture of Tim and his search in life, not shying from the difficulties that he struggled with,” states a press release on the project.

Tim was written by award-winning Swedish investigative journalist and documentary producer Måns Mosesson. For the book, Mosesson traveled to locations including Miami, Ibiza, Los Angeles and beyond to track Bergling’s comet-streak of a career as he became the figurehead of the global EDM movement in the early 2010s.

The book has been authorized by Bergling’s family and proceeds will benefit the Tim Bergling Foundation, which works to raise awareness around suicide prevention and mental health issues.

“I think it goes back to mental illness — that’s where it comes from,” Avicii’s father, Klas Bergling told Billboard of suicide in a 2020 interview. “That’s something we don’t speak a lot about, the conversation is growing more and more. The more society opens up to talk about this, I think that it will be a big help.”

Tim: The Official Biography of Avicii  will be published by Mobius Books.
